This is why I painted this image:

While walking along a trail in the Blue Mountains, I was delighted to come across a tree with a smaller tree nestled alongside it. The two trees together, one large and the other way smaller struck me as endearing, almost as if the larger tree were a mother caring for her child.

I perceived this as a touching scene which sparked my imagination, and I knew it was the perfect inspiration for my next painting, "Mother and Child." Although the tree I encountered wasn't an Angophora tree , I chose to paint one because I find these trees to be particularly feminine, with their unique lumps and curves, and I do love the terracotta trunk. Here is my vision brought to life in this artwork. I hope you enjoy it.

This is a recording of the birds at around 5.30am in Wollombi at my friend's property whilst camping there. Can you tell the lyre bird between the gurgle of my tummy which seems to be on the recording as well (oopsy) haha.
